Chelsea are prepared to start contract talks with midfielder Conor Gallagher amid his impressive beginning to the campaign.
The England international was integrated into the Blues squad last season following a promising loan spell with Crystal Palace.
He had a tough debut season with the club, but he has matured into a much better player this campaign. He is now a regular starter.
It is now reported that the Blues consider him as a key player in the squad and are prepared to discuss his future in the coming weeks.
Gallagher's deal expires in the summer of 2025 and the Blues are looking forward to committing him to a new long-term contract.
In case he is reluctant to prolong his stay, the club could consider the option of selling him during next summer's transfer window.
The Blues were open to selling him for the right price last summer amid interest from Tottenham Hotspur. A deal did not materialise.
