Manchester United are reportedly interested in landing Antonio Silva from Benfica next summer.
The Red Devils wanted to sign a marquee centre-back in the last transfer window, but failed to do so after Harry Maguire refused to leave the club.
They eventually confirmed the free transfer of Jonny Evans, but the club are likely to invest on a high-profile centre-back at the end of the campaign.
According to Record in Portugal, Silva is the main target for the Red Devils, but they may struggle to persuade the defender to join the club.
First of all, the 19-year-old is clearly happy with the proceedings at Benfica and he wants to become the captain of the club in the near future.
Secondly, he is not excited by the prospect of moving to the Premier League and has his sights on a transfer to Real Madrid instead.
The price also could be on the steeper side with Benfica reluctant to sanction his sale for anything less than his €120 million release clause.
