Hunt unsure of Reading future

Hunt unsure of Reading future

14 May 2008 - 16:52

Reading midfielder Stephen Hunt is unsure of his future at the club despite the reported interest of several Premiership sides. Hunt is believed to however still be willing to stay at the club if he sees the ambition this summer.

  • Chelsea expected to sell striker after loan deal
  • Arsenal defender misses training ahead of Man Utd game

  • "I'm contracted to Reading and, until I'm told otherwise, it doesn't make a blind bit of difference," Hunt told The Irish Independent.

"The gaffer has been very good to me in what he'd done for my career so it would be disrespectful to say anything else.

"It's a private matter, whatever happens at the club.

"There is a clause but there's nothing you can do about it until told otherwise.

"I'm happy at the club and grateful to the club for what it's done for me. I'm not going to sit here and do a Jermain Defoe on it and say I'm going.

"I've been trying to second-guess Steve Coppell for 10 years now. He's been very good to me but, if I have to uproot, I have to.

"A footballer's career is a short one and you have to make the most of it.

"You tell me what's happening. I've spoken to my agent once. I couldn't tell you who's interested."
