Chelsea are likely to make a decision over Thiago Silva's future next year, according to football.london.
The Brazilian star has been a mainstay in the Blues defence over the past few years but he is now showing signs of regression.
He was poor in the recent 4-1 defeat to Newcastle United on the road and could be dropped to the bench in the next outing.
Silva's current deal expires at the end of the season and reports claim that a final decision over his future will be made next year.
It is most likely that the Blues will part ways with the 39-year-old and will instead invest on a marquee centre-back signing.
The Blues already have Wesley Fofana who will return from a knee injury soon, but may still spend big on another recruit.
Chelsea have had a dismal Premier League campaign thus far and they are currently 10th in the standings with 16 points.
They are already 12 points behind the top four and look set to miss out on the Champions League for another campaign.
