Manchester United midfielder Erik ten Hag has confirmed that Mason Mount has returned to training ahead of the Premier League clash against Newcastle United on the road.
The England international signed for the Red Devils from Chelsea last summer, but he has yet to make a big impact for the club. He made his debut in the season opener, but got injured after the second game.
Mount made his comeback before the last international break only to suffer a fresh injury. Ten Hag has now revealed that the midfielder has returned to training, but the Magpies game will come too soon for him.
United are currently short in the midfield department with Casemiro and Christian Eriksen also injured. They still have adequate cover in the form of Scott McTominay, Kobbie Mainoo and Sofyan Amrabat.
The fans will be hoping that Mount can recover in time for the forthcoming games. He could return to the squad against either Chelsea or Bournemouth next week.
