Tottenham Hotspur are yet to open talks with Chelsea over a January move for midfielder Conor Gallagher.
The England international was heavily linked with a summer exit from the Blues amid the necessity to balance their books.
A transfer did not materialise in the end. Gallagher has been brilliant for the Blues this term, but he could still leave the club.
His current deal expires at the end of the 2024/25 season and the midfielder has yet to be convinced into extending his stay.
This could pave the way for his departure as early as this month. Spurs are interested in him, but they are yet to make a move.
Chelsea are likely to demand around £45 million for their standing captain, who has been almost ever-present in their line-up.
Gallagher has been one of the club's best players this season, but Chelsea need player sales to stay clear of FFP limits this year.
The departure of the Blues graduate would represent pure profit. Ian Maatsen and Trevoh Chalobah could likewise be sold this month.
