Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has said that Manchester United deserved to win the FA Cup quarter-final after taking a lot of risks.
The Reds went into the game as favourites to win at Old Trafford and they were deservedly 2-1 ahead at the half-time interval.
The Merseyside outfit looked on course for a victory, but Antony came off the bench to score a late equaliser for United in the 87th minute.
Harvey Elliot took the Reds ahead in the first half of extra time, but United scripted a fine comeback. Marcus Rashford equalised in the 112th minute.
With seconds before the shoot-out, a defensive error allowed Alejandro Garnacho to start a counter-attack from his own half.
The Argentine fed the ball into the path of Amad Diallo, who found the bottom right corner of the net to seal a dramatic victory.
Speaking after the 4-3 defeat, Klopp said: "We had an intense season so far, you just have to count the games and today was hard."
"United took a lot of risks, I absolutely respect that.
"The decision making doesn't get better the longer the game goes on. Congratulations to United for going to the semi-final."
