Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has clarified that he did not pick up an injury during the FA Cup quarter-final against Liverpool.
The Portugal international was one of the stand-out performers in the 4-3 win over the Reds where he played in different positions for the club.
Fernandes started off from the number 10 role, but dropped into the number six position after Kobbie Mainoo was substituted by Erik ten Hag.
In extra time, the skipper was spotted in central defence alongside Harry Maguire as Ten Hag decided to add more fresh faces in attack.
Fernandes was spotted limping in the closing stages. Speaking after the game, he clarified that he was suffering from a dead leg and nothing else.
Portugal are set to face Sweden and Slovenia during the international break and Fernandes is widely expected to play in both of those friendlies.
The 29-year-old has an exceptional fitness record, but United fans will be hoping that he can stay unscathed before his return to club action.
