Manchester United are now interested in signing Napoli right-back Giovanni Di Lorenzo, according to Il Mattino.
The Red Devils are braced for the departure of Aaron Wan-Bissaka whose contract expires at the end of next season.
They have been linked with many right-backs and Il Mattino claim that Di Lorenzo is one of the top transfer targets.
Di Lorenzo only signed a new contract in August 2023 and he spoke about his ambition of seeing out his career at Napoli.
However, things have changed over the past few months. The Serie A outfit have endured a dreadful Serie A title defence.
They are currently eighth in the table and already 12 points behind Bologna in the race for the final Champions League spot.
Hence, he is prepared to pursue a new challenge and United could bring him to the Premier League as Diogo Dalot's back-up.
Di Lorenzo is a better distributor than the Portuguese and he could also become the mainstay in the position next term.
