Manchester United defender Raphael Varane has confirmed that he will be leaving the club when his contract expires at the end of June.
The centre-back has been a key player for the Red Devils for the past three years, but he will depart after the club opted against a renewal.
United had the option to extend his stay for another year on his current £340,000-a-week wages, but they decided against it.
No talks were held over a new deal with a pay-cut and Varane will now pursue a new challenge away from the Mancunian giants.
Varane is currently on the radar of multiple Saudi Pro League clubs, but he could prefer a return to his hometown club in Lens this summer.
Lens manager has already opened the door for his homecoming, though he would need to accept an astronomical pay-cut to rejoin them.
The Ligue 1 outfit currently don't pay more than £35,000-a-week to any player. Varane's decision to return could be well received.
