Manchester United have made contact with the representatives of Ipswich Town manager Kieran McKenna, according to Sky Sports.
The Red Devils are expected to part ways with manager Erik ten Hag following the FA Cup final against Manchester City tomorrow.
They have no plans to reverse their decision even if United win the competition. Meanwhile, they are already looking for a replacement.
The likes of Mauricio Pochettino and Thomas Frank have been linked and the club are now discussing possible terms with McKenna too.
McKenna was formerly an assistant manager at the club and the Red Devils are aiming to tempt him to join them ahead of Chelsea.
The 38-year-old is also open to the prospect of taking the job and an announcement could be made over his arrival next week.
Ten Hag has had a tough season with several defensive injuries, but the hierarchy firmly believe the Dutchman has still underperformed.
He will be dismissed from the helm shortly after the FA Cup final.
