Bournemouth are interested in signing Liverpool centre-back Joel Matip when his Reds contract expires at the end of June.
The Cameroonian star has been a key player for the Merseyside giants, but the hierarchy have decided against keeping him.
Matip will be a free-agent from July and reports claim that the Cherries could offer him an instant return to the Premier League.
The South Coast outfit are set to lose the services of Lloyd Kelly on a free transfer and they want an experienced replacement.
Matip perfectly suits their requirements and it is left to be seen whether the former Schalke 04 man will accept the proposal.
The Cherries had a poor start to last season under manager Andoni Iraola, but they massively improved before the New Year.
The club ended the Premier League season in 12th with 48 points which is the most they have achieved in a top-flight campaign.
The onus will be on pushing for a top half finish next season.
