German coach Fabian Hürzeler will be announced as Brighton's new manager on Tuesday afternoon, as the 31-year-old FC St Pauli manager puts pen to paper on a three year contract with the Premier League side. Brighton have been impressed with the coach, who has an impressive record since taking over at St Pauli in 2022.
Roberto De Zerbi came to a mutual agreement with Brighton last month, and club owner Tony Bloom has been quick to find an alternative. In Hurzeler, the club are confident that they have signed one of Europe's top young managers. Hurzeler had previously coached FC Pipinsried before joining St Pauli, and had a short career playing for Bayern Munich, Hoffenheim and 1860 Munich's reserve sides. As a player, Hurzeler was not able to make the step up to the starting squad.
Hurzeler was the youngest coach to manage a club in the 2. Bundesliga when he took over in 2022. Having only just received his UEFA Pro License last year, the manager still has plenty to prove, but will be given a great opportunity to do so at the Amex Stadium.
