Manchester United have identified Bologna striker Joshua Zirkzee as their primary striker target, according to Sky Sports.
The Red Devils are lining up a new striker to provide support to Rasmus Hojlund and Zirkzee has been earmarked as the ideal fit.
The club have already expressed an interest in signing him, but they face competition from the likes of Arsenal and AC Milan.
Milan have been in constant talks with his agent after agreeing personal terms with the player, but no deal has been agreed as of now.
Kia Joorabchian is currently eyeing a commission of around €15m, but Milan are reluctant to pay anything more than €10m for a deal.
This could open up the opportunity for United to sign him, though Zirkzee has a clear ambition to continue in Serie A next season.
He has already informed his stance to his representative, but there has been no progress in negotiations with the Rossoneri until now.
