Manchester United are preparing to advance for the signing of Sporting Lisbon defender Goncalo Inacio, according to A Bola.
The Red Devils are determined to sign a new central defender and Jarrad Branthwaite is apparently their number one transfer target.
However, the hierarchy have been unable to sort out a fee with Everton.
They are only willing to pay around £43m while the Toffees are adamant that they won't accept anything less than £70m for his services.
It is now reported that United have turned their attention to Inacio, who could be signed for his release clause of around £51m.
The Portuguese star has been on the Red Devils radar for the past few years and the club are now weighing up an offer for him.
Inacio is said to be excited by the prospect of moving to the Premier League and United could get a free run at signing him too.
Liverpool were previously credited with an interest in the 22-year-old, but they have now turned their focus to Leny Yoro.
