Milan block Kaka from Olympics

19 May 2008 - 19:08

AC Milan have confirmed that they will block Brazilian midfielder Kaka from appearing in the Olympics this summer. The talented Brazilian is believed to be suffering from burn out after a long Serie A season, and the club have decided they will not allow him to play.

  • Chelsea midfielder looking forward to London derby vs Spurs
  • Arsenal in the front row to sign Dutch striker

  • A statement from Milan read: "In view of the Olympic Games in China, Milan confirms that it will show no impediment for under-23 players like Alexandre Pato and Rodrigo Digao to join the (Olympic) national team.

"However, Milan will never grant an over-23 player like Kaka the same allowances considering the Brazilian champion is already a member of the Brazil national team, that is the National A team.

"The Rossoneri club does not consider it just that Kaka should be involved in the official games of Brazil's Olympic national team."
