Manchester United have reportedly earmarked three main candidates for the managerial role amid their poor run of results this campaign.

  • The Red Devils have picked up only two wins in all competitions this term, and they are currently on a seven-match streak without a victory.

This has increased speculation over Carrick's future at the club, and reports claim that he could be sacked if United don't beat Bournemouth on Sunday.

Amidst this, BBC Sport report that the club are weighing up possible candidates to take over the job from Carrick in the near future.

Former Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe is one of the leading names, and he is reportedly eager to return to the Premier League.

Antonio Conte, who left Napoli last summer, is another candidate, considering his huge reputation and prior league experience.

Ex-Germany head coach Julian Nagelsmann is the third name on the list, though he is apparently behind the above duo in the pecking order.
