Arsenal are interested in landing the signature of Barcelona defender Jules Kounde, according to reputed journalist Gerard Romero.
The Gunners have been fancied to land a new centre-back in the current transfer window and a number of players have been named.
Romero today claims that the club have asked about the availability of Kounde, but Barcelona are reluctant to sell the Frenchman.
They are only willing to do so for a huge price but a deal could also depend on Ronald Araujo, who has been linked with a departure.
Kounde has been with the Catalan giants for the last two seasons, but there has always been speculation that he could leave the club.
The former Sevilla man would be a good signing for the Gunners, but a deal may not be straightforward due to several reasons.
He could cost more than €60m in the transfer market while he may not join the club without the assurance of a starting role under Mikel Arteta.
