Manchester United have not ruled out the prospect of keeping Sofyan Amrabat next season, according to Manchester Evening News.
The Morocco international joined the Red Devils from Fiorentina on loan last summer. The club paid a hefty €10m for the temporary deal.
He struggled to meet the expectations for most of the season, but managed to end his stint on a high with a fantastic FA Cup display.
United did not trigger the option to buy him for €20m, but M.E.N claim that the Red Devils could still re-enter negotiations with Fiorentina.
Amrabat has entered the final year of his contract at the Serie A outfit, and United could consider negotiating a cut-price transfer for him.
The former Club Brugge man is keen on returning to Old Trafford and it remains to be seen whether the club make a fresh proposal.
The club are currently in talks with Paris Saint-Germain over Manuel Ugarte, but they could sign another defensive midfielder too.
