Arsenal and Chelsea are pushing to land the signature of Bologna defender Riccardo Calafiori this summer, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Italy international has been in superb form for club and country over the past year and he has been tipped to pursue a bigger challenge.
Calafiori has already agreed personal terms with Serie A giants Juventus, but Bologna are quite clear that they won't sell him to their rivals.
Juventus recently appointed Thiago Motta as their manager from Bologna and there is currently a strong rift between the Italian outfits.
Hence, they prefer to sell him abroad and it is claimed that the Premier League could be the next destination for the 22-year-old.
Arsenal are firmly in the race with contacts established, but they are bound to face strong competition from their rivals Chelsea too.
The versatile centre-back and left-back is likely to cost around €50m. 50 per cent of the transfer will go to his former club Basel.
