Chelsea have opened talks with Brentford over the potential transfer of Ivan Toney before the transfer deadline.
The Blues are determined to sign a marquee striker this week and they are now looking into a deal for Toney.
The 28-year-old has been the subject of interest from Al-Ahli, but he is open to staying in the Premier League.
Chelsea have initiated contact with the Bees, but the striker won't come on the cheap, according to The Telegraph.
Brentford recently received £50 million from Al-Ahli and the Blues will have to match the same transfer package.
Meanwhile, Toney's wage demands could be another stumbling block.
The striker is eyeing a salary package of £250,000 per week, but the Blues may not pay over £150,000 weekly.
Hence, a transfer is far from straightforward. There is also interest from other top clubs in the Premier League.
We won't be surprised if Arsenal consider a late swoop for the Englishman after a fresh injury for Gabriel Jesus.
