Liverpool are in advanced negotiations with Juventus over the transfer of Federico Chiesa, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Merseyside giants have made just one signing in goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili this summer. He is expected to join the club at the start of the 2025/26 season.
It is now revealed by Romano that the Reds have opened talks with the Bianconeri over Chiesa. The Italy international is 'excited' about the prospect of joining the Reds.
Juventus currently value him at around £13 million and a transfer could be fairly straightforward with no competition at the present point of time.
Chiesa has been linked with Barcelona, Chelsea and Manchester United this month, but only Liverpool have made formal contact for the 26-year-old.
The Fiorentina graduate should be a fantastic signing for the Reds as he can play on the right wing, left wing or from the centre-forward position.
He looks on course to become the Reds' second summer acquisition. The club are also expected to sign a new centre-back before the window closes.
