Chelsea right-back Reece James could make his comeback from a hamstring injury following the international break.
The Blues captain has been hampered by multiple muscle injuries over the past 18 months which has affected his progress.
James had a relatively injury free pre-season this summer, but he unfortunately suffered another setback in training.
He has been working on his fitness over the past few weeks and could be in line for a return to the matchday squad soon.
Malo Gusto has been brilliant as James' deputy, but the Frenchman suffered a hamstring injury before the international break.
It is unclear whether he will be available for the coming games.
If James is not deemed fit to start, Axel Disasi could be asked to operate from the right side of the back four next weekend.
Chelsea are scheduled to face Bournemouth on the road on Saturday night. It could be another tricky encounter for them.
