Manchester United midfielder Christian Eriksen has broken silence over his future following his stand-out performance against Barnsley.
The Denmark international was brilliant in the third round of the Carabao Cup last night. He provided an assist while scoring two goals.
Speaking after the game, he was asked about his future at the club to which he responded: "I feel very good being at United. If they told me to leave I would leave but I didn't hear that.
"There's one year left so my focus is going to be on this year, going full out and see what happens afterwards."
Eriksen was fancied to leave the Red Devils this summer. He was linked with a reunion with Ajax, but his wages proved a stumbling block.
His current deal with United expires at the end of the campaign and as things stand, the club have no plans of extending his existing deal.
Unlike other players, United don't have an option to keep him for another year. It is most likely that Eriksen will leave on a free transfer.
Eriksen has started the last two games for United, but he is unlikely to sustain his role with the huge competition and quality in the squad.
