Manchester United are prepared to compete with Real Madrid to sign Dinamo Zagreb midfielder Martin Baturina.
The 21-year-old is one of the best young playmakers in Croatia and he could make a big-money move pretty soon.
United are closely monitoring his proceedings but reports claim that they could face competition from Madrid.
Madrid are known for keeping tabs on European talents too and Luka Modric is reportedly playing a part in the interest.
Modrid is desperate to bring his countryman to the Bernabeu and he has personally made a plea to the youngster.
However, United are well within the race for the playmaker and the duo could go on a bidding battle for his services.
Baturina has registered five assists in eight games this season.
He was also splendid for Zagreb last term. The youngster made 17 goal contributions in all competitions for the club.
Zagreb are prepared to sell him for a fee of around £25m next year.
