Manchester United are weighing up the option of replacing Erik ten Hag with Xavi as their new manager, according to Daily Mail.
The Red Devils have had a below-par start to their Premier League and Europa League campaigns. They are 12th in the league with 11 points while they have picked up just two points from their first two European games.
Ten hag's job is safe at the current point of time, but the club's stance could change in the coming weeks if United can't build a long winning streak.
Amidst this, reports claim that co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe and CEO Omar Berrada have travelled to Barcelona where contact was made with Xavi.
Xavi is a free-agent after ending his association with the Blaugrana, but he is prepared to re-enter management with an elite European team soon.
United could end up appointing him if the results don't improve significantly. A string of winless games could lead to Ten Hag's dismissal.
