Incoming Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has said that he has no plans of signing Sporting Lisbon players in January.
The Portuguese recently agreed to join United from Sporting CP and he is expected to formally sign his contract on Monday.
Amorim has been asked about signing several Sporting CP players for a while and when pressed on the question again he said:
"Not in January, that's what I said. I don't know about the summer. The first thing is to hold out until the summer [laughs]. The Sporting players are very good players. We'll see."
United are unlikely to make any big-money signings in January and they are expected to wait until the summer before a spending spree.
Hence, we are not surprised by the comments made by Amorim and he could shortlist his targets before the summer transfer window.
Viktor Gyokeres, Goncalo Inacio and Ousmane Diomande are among players, who he could bring to Old Trafford before next season.
