Manchester United interim manager Ruud van Nistelrooy has heaped praise on Bruno Fernandes following the 3-0 Premier League win over Leicester City at Old Trafford.

  • Chelsea striker in advanced talks to join Burnley

  • The Red Devils returned to winning ways in the top-flight with a stunning display against the Foxes. Fernandes was the man of the match with an exceptional display.

He opened the scoring with a long-range strike before indirectly contributing to an own goal. The Portuguese put the gloss on the performance with the assist for Alejandro Garnacho's stellar strike.

Speaking after the game, Van Nistelrooy highlighted the importance of the Red Devils captain and he was delighted with his goal contributions against the Foxes at home.

He said: "At least he's back producing goals and assists and that's the Bruno helping the team the most. He's done that on a special occasion as well as he had his 250th game today."

With the victory, United remain 13th in the standings with 15 points on the board, but they are only four adrift of Arsenal, who are fourth in the table at the current point of time.
