Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has revealed that defender Ben White will be out of action for few months after his knee surgery during the international break.
The Englishman has been an important figure in the Gunners defence for several seasons, but he has rarely been absent with injury concerns.
White was playing with a knee problem for some period of time and the club recently permitted him to undergo an operation for the same.
Arteta has now revealed that the club made the decision for the player's long-term health and he won't be available for a couple of months.
White's absence may not be a huge blow for Arsenal. Jurrien Timber could slot into the right side of the defence for the north London giants.
Riccardo Calafiori has recovered from a knee issue of his own and the Italian is expected to reclaim his role on the left side of the back four.
Arsenal welcome Nottingham Forest in the Premier League tomorrow.
