Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has provided a fresh update on Reece James following the 2-1 Premier League win over Leicester City on the road.
The England international has been injury-prone over the past few years and he picked up a fresh hamstring concern during the international break.
Speaking after the 2-1 win over the Foxes, Maresca said that James will undergo a scan to assess the extent of the damage sustained.
He said: "We didn't have any update on Reece. We have to wait, he will do a scan again and we will see."
Malo Gusto has been the regular right-back in the absence of James, but he was sidelined for today's game after falling ill in the lead-up.
Wesley Fofana operated on the right side of the backline and he did a credible job. The Frenchman showed his versatility on the pitch.
Chelsea take on Aston Villa at home in the Premier League next weekend. They are currently third in the table, six points behind leaders Liverpool.
