Everton thank Man Utd for £1.5m

22 May 2008 - 14:44

Everton landed a bumper pay day after Manchester United won the Champions League against Chelsea. Part of the agreement when Wayne Rooney joined United, was a series of transfer 'add-ons' based on the striker's performance.

  • Chelsea tipped to make shock move for Marcus Rashford
  • Man Utd believe they can sign Bournemouth star for £64m
  • Despite the former Everton man not even having a shot on the Chelsea goal during the Champions League final, Rooney has landed his former club a bumper pay day.

Rooney's original transfer in 2004 was believed to have value of more than £25 million.

David Moyes is sure to be happy with the £1.5 million that he will be likely to reinvest in new players for next year.
