Arsenal considered a move for Manchester United star Marcus Rashford last summer, according to Daily Mail.
The north London giants have had a below-par season by their high standards and they are currently six points behind Liverpool in the Premier League, who have a game in hand as well.
The Gunners are already playing catch-up in the league title race and this has led to multiple questions over why they did not sign a new striker during last summer's transfer window.
It is now revealed that Rashford was under the Gunners' consideration earlier this year, but they did not make a formal proposal to the Red Devils.
The club have since changed their transfer strategy and it is unlikely that they will make an approach for the England international in the near future.
Rashford recently revealed his desire to pursue a new challenge away from United, but it is unclear whether any elite European club will make a winter approach for his services.
