Juventus have opened negotiations with Chelsea to sign defender Renato Veiga this winter, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Portuguese star joined the Blues from Basel last summer, but he has since received limited playing time at the London giants.
Veiga has largely played in the Cup competitions and this has spread speculation that he could leave the Blues on loan.
Borussia Dortmund were linked with him earlier in the transfer window, but there is now fresh interest from the Bianconeri.
Juventus are without Gleison Bremer and Juan Cabal with serious injuries and Veiga could fill the void for both players in the squad.
The 21-year-old has largely played as a left-back for the Blues this season, but he is primarily a central defender by trade.
Veiga considers his long-term future at Chelsea, but we won't be surprised if Juventus propose an option to buy him too.
The defender has been left out of the matchday today with the Blues said to be evaluating all possible offers on the table.
