Arsenal are interested in signing Bayern Munich midfielder Joshua Kimmich on a free transfer at the end of the season, according to Florian Plettenberg.
The Gunners are expected to reinforce their midfield department during the summer transfer window with Jorginho and Thomas Partey poised to leave.
Both midfielders have their contracts expiring at the end of June, and there are no plans from the hierarchy to discuss a renewal with either of them.
Plettenberg now claims that the Gunners want to land Kimmich as a replacement for Jorginho and a written offer has been presented to him.
Kimmich has informed the same to Bayern's hierarchy. The German giants are still hopeful of convincing the 30-year-old to stay beyond June 30 when his contract expires.
Bayern have offered around £316,000 per week to the versatile star, who can operate anywhere in midfield or from the right-back position.
It appears Arsenal have proposed a much higher package to the former RB Leipzig graduate. He could be tempted to consider a new challenge.
