England head coach Thomas Tuchel has provided an update on Chelsea playmaker Cole Palmer following his hamstring injury.
The Blues star picked up the setback before the Premier League clash against Arsenal. He has since withdrawn from the Three Lions squad.
Chelsea are still assessing the nature of the issue, but Tuchel has said that it does not make sense to keep an injured player in his squad.
He told reporters: "Cole will not be with us. We waited quite a while now for feedback. He is not on the pitch so it makes no sense to call him up now."
Palmer had a brilliant start to the campaign with the Blues, but his form has nosedived over the last few months due to fitness concerns.
The playmaker has also missed the presence of Nicolas Jackson and Noni Madueke. The duo have been injured for the last few weeks.
Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca is reportedly hoping to have the trio back in training ahead of the derby against Tottenham at home.
