Manchester United are very close to completing an agreement to sign Wolverhampton Wanderers forward Matheus Cunha, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Red Devils are expected to make multiple additions to the squad in the summer and a new playmaker is one of the main targets for manager Ruben Amorim.
Cunha has been identified as the priority by the Portuguese and reports claim that the attacker has already given the green light for a summer transfer.
Talks are underway regarding personal terms and an agreement could be reached soon. Once that happens, United plan to discuss on the payment plan.
The club can sign the versatile forward by triggering a £62.5m release clause, but they prefer to negotiate staggered payments to secure his signature.
Newcastle United and Nottingham Forest have also expressed an interest in the 25-year-old, but he has been persuaded to join the promising project under Amorim.
United plan to sign him as soon as the transfer window reopens.
