The Reds are expected to spend big during the next transfer window. A new right-back is due to be signed with Trent Alexander-Arnold set to leave on a free transfer.

The Englishman has decided against renewing his contract with the Reds and he is expected to join Real Madrid on a Bosman move after the campaign concludes.

Fabrizio Romano now reports that the Reds are weighing up options to replace their graduate and Frimpong is one of the top names on their transfer wishlist.

The 24-year-old has played as a right wing-back for most of his Leverkusen career. He has registered an impressive four goals and 12 assists from 47 appearances.

Frimpong has also impressed with his duel-winning ability and recovery pace. He would be a brilliant signing to replace Alexander-Arnold this summer.

The Dutchman has a release clause worth £30m in his contract and it appears a no-brainer decision for the Reds to land his signature.
