Arsenal sporting director Andrea Berta has reservations over signing goalkeeper Joan Garcia from Real Sociedad this summer, according to TNAT Patreon.
The Gunners are long-term admirers of the 24-year-old goalkeeper and they wanted to land his signature after Aaron Ramsdale left for Southampton last summer.
A deal did not materialise before the transfer deadline but the club are expected to return for him. Garcia has already agreed terms and a move could be straightforward.
Arsenal can sign him by triggering his £21 million release clause. Manager Mikel Arteta is a huge admirer of his compatriot but Berta has second thoughts over a deal.
With the budget set to be limited, Berta believes the money could be better spent on other key positions. The Gunners chief does not feel the need to land another keeper.
It remains to be seen whether his opinion is respected. If so, the Gunners may consider a permanent deal for Neto, who joined on loan from Bournemouth last summer.
