Chelsea have made an opening bid worth €35 million to sign Borussia Dortmund winger Jamie Gittens this summer, according to David Ornstein.
The west London giants recently opted against signing Jadon Sancho on a permanent basis following his season-long loan from Manchester United.
Gittens has been identified as his replacement and reports claim that the Blues have already agreed personal terms with the England youth international.
The 20-year-old has given the green light for the transfer, but the Blues still need to find a suitable agreement with Dortmund for his services.
They have made a first offer of around €35 million for the highly-rated winger, but the German giants are widely expected to reject the proposal.
Dortmund value him close to €50 million and are expected to hold out for a higher fee to sanction his sale before the Club World Cup this month.
Both Chelsea and Dortmund are involved at the tournament. Chelsea are determined to register Gittens in their squad for the showpiece.
