French goalkeeper Mike Maignan is reportedly keen on joining Chelsea during the summer transfer window.
The Blues are expected to land a new shot-stopper and they have identified Maignan as their number one target.
The club have made two offers worth €10 million and €15 million respectively, but AC Milan are eyeing at least €30 million.
Fabrizio Romano now reports that AC Milan and Chelsea are in direct contact today as they continue to discuss terms of the deal.
Maignan remains keen on joining the Blues and he is pushing for the move to happen. It depends on whether an agreement can be reached.
Chelsea ideally want a new goalkeeper before the Club World Cup and have another 24 hours to sort out Maignan's potential transfer.
The summer transfer window will initially close on May 10 for the Club World Cup. Clubs won't be able to register players after this.
Hence, the Blues are facing a race against time to land Maignan.
