Chelsea are determined to find an agreement for AC Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan before Tuesday's transfer deadline for the Club World Cup.
The Blues will enter the global tournament later this month by virtue of winning the 2021 Champions League final against Manchester City.
They are keen on landing a new shot-stopper prior to this and have been in regular negotiations with the Rossoneri over a deal for Maignan.
As things stand, Chelsea have failed with two bids for the Frenchman. Their latest offer of around €15m has been turned down by the Milan giants.
Chelsea are ready to make a final take-or-leave offer in the coming hours. If a deal can't be struck before tomorrow's 7pm deadline, they will move on.
Maignan will enter the last year of his Milan contract in July. He has given the green light to join the Blues. Milan need to make a final decision.
The Rossoneri could sanction his transfer for a package of €20m.
