Chelsea have revived their interest in signing Benfica defender Tomas Araujo this summer, according to A Bola.
The Blues were keen on signing the Portuguese centre-back last summer, but they could not negotiate before the transfer deadline.
The London giants have revived their pursuit of the 23-year-old, but Benfica are unlikely to sanction his departure on the cheap.
The centre-back has a release clause worth €80 million in his contract, and the Portuguese giants are likely to demand at least €60m.
The club are also likely to demand the majority of the fee upfront while the Blues could be reluctant to meet such requirements.
Hence, it won't be a straightforward deal. The Blues may need to negotiate with Benfica further to come up with a suitable agreement.
Chelsea are expected to part ways with Axel Disasi to compensate for a new centre-back. The Frenchman spent the second half of last season on loan at Aston Villa and will be sold in the coming weeks.
