Napoli have decided against purchasing Jadon Sancho from Manchester United this summer, according to reputed journalist Fabrizio Romano.
The England international spent the previous campaign on loan with domestic rivals Chelsea. He had an average Premier League season with just three goals and five assists.
As a result, the Blues decided against a permanent move. They had an obligation to buy for £25 million, but cancelled the agreement by paying a £5m penalty fee.
Sancho is now expected to pursue a new challenge away from Old Trafford. Napoli recently entered the pursuit, but have opted against following up with a formal transfer bid.
The Serie A champions are more than capable of paying the reported £20m asking price, but they are reluctant to meet Sancho's current £250,000 weekly package.
Victor Osimhen is the highest earner at Napoli at £215,000 per week, but he is expected to leave this summer. Romelu Lukaku is the second on the list at just £125,000 weekly.
Hence, we are not surprised Napoli have distanced themselves from Sancho, who has no plans to reduce his wages for a summer transfer away from the Red Devils.
