German champions Bayern Munich are exploring a surprise move for Arsenal winger Gabriel Martinelli, according to journalist Christian Falk.
The Bundesliga giants are keen on bolstering their wide attacking department and they are looking at different options in the transfer market.
Nico Williams was their initial target, but the Spaniard is keen on joining Barcelona. Similarly, Borussia Dortmund's Jamie Gittens prefers to sign for Chelsea instead. He has already agreed terms with the Blues.
Amidst this, Falk claims that Bayern have entered the pursuit of Martinelli, who registered 10 goals and six assists from 51 games last term.
The Brazilian has been a key player for the Gunners over the years with 225 appearances, but his future appears uncertain at the current point.
Arsenal are on the hunt for a marquee left-sided winger. Real Madrid's Rodrygo is one of their top targets for the summer transfer window.
The Gunners are open to parting ways with Martinelli for £50m if a marquee winger arrives. It remains to be seen whether Bayern will pay such a fee.
