Arsenal are ready to make an improved bid to sign Valencia defender Cristhian Mosquera in the coming days, according to Superdeporte.
The Gunners are planning to sign a new centre-back this summer. They were initially keen on Dean Huijsen, but he chose to join Real Madrid.
Mosquera has emerged as the immediate alternative and reports claim that their opening offer worth €14m was turned down by Los Che.
Arsenal are now likely to make a renewed approach for the highly-rated Spaniard. Sporting director Andrea Berta is leading the charge.
Berta was previously keen on landing the 21-year-old at Atletico Madrid and he is focused on bringing him to the Gunners this summer.
The Gunners are prepared to make a renewed offer worth €25m including add-ons to persuade Valencia to sanction the defender's exit.
Valencia have still not given up on keeping hold of the centre-back. He has a year left on his contract and they hope to extend his stay.
