Chelsea have reached an agreement with Brighton & Hove Albion to sign Joao Pedro this summer, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano.
The west London giants are keen on bolstering their frontline with multiple options. They have already signed Jamie Gittens from Borussia Dortmund.
It is now reported that an agreement has been reached for the purchase of Pedro, who has been a key performer for the Seagulls in recent seasons.
Pedro was initially on the radar of Newcastle United, but the Blues have now won the race for his signature. They will pay in excess of £50 million for his services, as per Romano.
The former Watford man has already received permission to travel to the United States to undergo his medical and join the squad at the Club World Cup.
The Blues have high ambitions at the tournament. They have made the quarter-final stage and are seemingly dark horses to go all the way and win it.
