Manchester United could miss out on a new midfielder due to Casemiro's stance.
The Red Devils have already strengthened their attack with Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo is expected to join from Brentford soon.
The club have also been fancied to recruit a new defensive midfielder, but their plans could be scuppered by Casemiro's decision to stay.
Casemiro will enter the final year of his £350,000 per week United contract next month, and he plans to see out rather than move on.
The midfielder recently received a shock recall to the Brazilian national team under manager Carlo Ancelotti. He now has his sights on the World Cup.
Casemiro is aware that he has to play at the highest level to make the cut for the World Cup and he has therefore turned down offers from Saudi Arabia.
This is a huge setback for the Red Devils. The club were aiming to bring in a young midfielder after reducing the wage bill with Casemiro's exit.
