Mancinis agent: He shall stay

Mancini's agent: He shall stay

27 May 2008 - 06:38

Inter Milan's current coach Roberto Mancini shall stay at the club and see out the remainder of his four-year contract, his agent insists.

  • Chelsea join Liverpool & Man Utd in race to sign 26yo
  • Barcelona identify Arsenal midfielder as key transfer target

  • Mancini's agent Giorgio De Giorgis had previously maintained that the Italian didn't want to leave the Nerazzurri and was eager to maintain his coaching role at Inter.

And even in the aftermatch of the hot story currently doing the rounds in Europe that Inter Milan have decided to appoint the former Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho as their new coach next season, De Giorgis insists that his client shall stay on as the coach of Inter Milan beyond the summer.

    Giorgio De Giorgis said:

"He is very happy at Inter and has a four-year contract. He just won a third title and they are also going to try to win the Champions League too.

"Chelsea are amongst the top five clubs in the world with a phenomenal President, but there is no truth whatsoever that there has been contact with them.

"Those rumors are unfounded. If there is anybody that went to make noises to Chelsea, it was not authorised by Mancini."

Roberto Mancini guided Inter Milan to their second successive on-pitch scudetto triumph last week but his future at Inter has been enshrouded in doubt ever since he handed his resignation, which was subsequently rejected by Inter supremo Massimo Moratti, after they crashed out of the UEFA Champions League to Liverpool.
