West Ham have made contact with Aston Villa with regard to a potential transfer move for 24-year-old attacking midfielder Jacob Ramsey. The Birmingham-born England under-21 international has yet to make up his mind on his future, but should he depart Villa that will end an 18-year association with the club that he began his youth career with at just 6-years-old.
It is understood that Ramsey is contemplating a change of scenery ahead of the 2025-26 Premier League season, as well as guarantees of a first-team place. Aston Villa manager Unai Emery, although a huge fan of Ramsey, cannot guarantee a starting position in his team this upcoming campaign and therefore the midfielder is now thinking about a transfer move elsewhere.
The £40 million rated player is also aware that a move to West Ham would come with a significant bump on his current salary, believed to be around £60,000 per week. Ramsey is looking for at least £90,000 per week.
It is understood that whilst other teams have expressed an interest in Ramsey, The Hammers are ahead of the rest of the pack - including Sunderland and Everton - and that Graham Potter is confident Ramsey will be an Irons' player in a matter of weeks.
