Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has provided an injury update on Kai Havertz following the 3-2 friendly loss to Villarreal at the Emirates Stadium today.
The Gunners had another disappointing outing in pre-season. They were second-best in the final third and the La Liga outfit outclassed them with three quality goals.
Speaking after the loss, Arteta was posed with plenty of questions and one of those was focused on Havertz, who was one of the players missing from the matchday squad.
The Gunners tactician said that the German felt something in training yesterday and he was left out of the friendly against Villarreal as a precaution.
He said: "Yesterday in training he felt something and this morning he wasn't quite right, so we decided to rest him. I think it's going to be a matter of a couple of days, hopefully the weekend. I think he will be fit."
Arsenal take on Athletic in their final pre-season friendly on Saturday before the Premier League curtain-raiser against Manchester United.
